EXCLUSIVE: Mika Gets Personal About Past Loves, Coming Out, and Rat Pee
With the release of his new album The Origin of Love, Mika sat down with The Advocate for a revealing, personal and exclusive interview.
Calling his new album a joyful leap forward, he describes it as "an urban personal diary about a 28-year-old who's trying to figure out how he's going to go to deal with the next 10 years and all the little personal things he has to confront over the course of six months."
He also says the album comes from a place of joy and from collaborations with fellow friends and musicians.
For the time being, Mika is rehearsing in an East London old biscuit factory that smells of vermin pee. But from the sound of it, he's having the time of his life.
In the full interview, Mika reveals details about his upcoming tour, recounts the creation of his anti-bullying anthem and ruminates on his recent coming out.
