WATCH: James Franco Back in Drag for R.E.M.'s Last Music Video

Directed by multihyphenate James Franco and shot by hipster celebrity photog Terry Richardson, the new clip for "Blue" by R.E.M. — which features spoken-word by 80% gay frontman Michael Stipe and backup vocals by Patti Smith — is being billed as the disbanded group's final music video.

Standing out among the dreamy Hollywood imagery (ooh, the Roosevelt! Chateau Marmont! Walk of Fame!) are video outtakes from Richardson's photo shoots with Franco and Lindsay Lohan. The images of Franco serving face in drag appear to be from Richardson's 2010 shoot with Franco for the cover of Candy magazine.
