Christina Aguilera Is 'Forever Indebted' to Gay Fans

Advocate.com caught up with The Voice mentor Christina Aguilera as she promotes her surprisingly enjoyable new album Lotus, and she once again had a shout-out for her loyal LGBT fans. In fact, the performer credits the gays not only for their hand in her success but also for her sanity and survival.

I cannot be more thankful for the support over the years from the community," she says. "Even when I felt I couldn’t stand, they held me up and supported me. I think we can each related to each other and I am forever indebted."

But when it comes to the subject of her lesbian friends, Miss Xtina's not about to bother with gossip blogs who blamed female friendships for her divorce. "
I don’t know what the blogs said, nor do I care," she says. "I have a close group of people I really trust who I have known forever — some are gay and some aren’t. To me they are just close friends."
