WATCH: Gay Anthem 'Brave' Will Make You Bust a Move

By: Brandon Voss

A few weeks back we shared the inspiring lyric video for "Brave," the uplifting gay anthem we'd been waiting for. Now Sara Bareilles has released the official video for her empowering single.

The infectious song, which the pop performer wrote with fun. lead guitarist Jack Antonoff, was actually inspired by one of Sara's close friends, who was struggling with coming out of the closet.

“You can be amazing," she croons. "You can turn a phrase into a weapon or a drug. You can be the outcast or be the backlash of somebody’s lack of love or you can start speaking up."

The appropriately upbeat and energetic video features folks of all ages, races, and sizes breaking loose and dancing like there's no tomorrow in public settings like the mall, the gym, and on the street. In fact, that sassy gentleman busting a move in the library might just be our spirit animal.

"Brave" is the first single from Sara's third studio album, The Blessed Unrest, which is now available for pre-order on iTunes and will be released July 16.
