WATCH: Justin Timberlake Works the Streets in 'Take Back the Night'
Justin Timberlake executed a welcome audio sneak attack recently when he surprised fans by dropping “Take Back The Night,” a new single from the upcoming second volume of his hit album The 20/20 Experience.
“I originally recorded a massive amount of material and decided on the 20 tracks that I wanted on the album over a year ago,” Justin said in a statement about the inspiration behind The 20/20 Experience: 2 of 2, expected out in September. “But, when I was mixing and going through all of the songs, there were so many that I loved — I couldn’t resist … I had to throw in something extra on the second half.”
Michael Jackson’s influence can clearly be heard throughout the smooth single, and there’s more than a dash of the King of Pop’s inspiration rooted in the video as well. See if you can spot how many times the spirit of one of MJ’s classic videos slides into Justin’s romp through the Big Apple.
