Sam Smith Wows the Worldwide Pants Off David Letterman

By: Les Fabian Brathwaite

Sam Smith's "Stay With Me" is like this year's "Someone Like You" -- a gorgeous ballad that reduces you to an ugly-crying puddle of sadness and pain as you look to the heavens and scream, "WHY DON'T YOU LOVE ME?!" And that's what I call a hit.

The Brit singer-songwriter continued to tear the roof off of various suckas with a flawless performance of his signature tune on The Late Show with David Letterman. Even Dave was impressed, exhaling a "wow...oh my god!" as soon as Smith finished his final runs.

Smith's In the Lonely Hour dropped on Tuesday and Billboard predicts it will move over 150,000 units when it debuts on the charts next week. If he keeps this up, however, he could be telling Lana Del Rey to take a backseat. Her Ultraviolence is expected to sell over 175,000 copies in its debut week.
