Ariana Grande: My Ex-Boyfriend Cheated On Me With a Guy

By: Ross von Metzke

Ariana Grande has one less problem indeed — her ex-boyfriend, who she claims in a new interview cheated on her with a guy.

The rising pop star currently has three hit songs on the chart — the summer smash “Problem,” its follow-up “Break Free” and her collaboration with Jessie J. and Nicki Minaj, “Bang Bang” — but it's her upcoming single “Break Your Heart Right Back” that is currently making headlines.

Grande says the song is about her ex-boyfriend, telling Attitude magazine: “It’s about a boy who cheats on a girl with another boy. Thats’s a very fun concept. Originally it was going to be about a boy who cheats with a girl, but then I was like, ‘No, I want it to be about a boy who cheats on a girl with another boy’.”

She says the theme of the song, which samples Diana Ross’ “I’m Coming Out,” is pulled from her own life.

“It’s one of my favorites on the album and it’s really funny because I believe it has happened to me. I’m not 100 per cent positive, but I’m 99.9 per cent positive. I would rather he cheats on me with a guy than with a girl any day! If I found out my boyfriend was gay, I would be like ‘OK!’ I’d be so relieved.”

Grande has long been a supporter of the gay community. The singer’s brother Frankie is openly gay and currently enjoying a bit of fame himself. He’s the housemate causing the most buzz on the current season of Big Brother.
