JCPenney Stands By Ellen

Early Friday morning, retail giant JCPenney emailed a statement to Yahoo! Shine confirming that the company “stands by its partnership with Ellen,” despite a threatened boycott by One Millions Moms—a project of designated hate group The American Family Association.

The news is wonderful, but should come as little surprise, considering DeGeneres’ talk show draws three million daily viewers and she won the People’s Choice Awards for Favorite Daytime Talk Show Host just last month. And GLAAD’s “Stand Up for Ellen” petition garnered nearly 25,000 signatures of support in just 48 hours.

One Millions Moms, stop trying to make hate happen! It’s not going to happen (apologies to Mean Girls)!

I've always liked JCP, and now I like them even more. Kudos for doing the right thing.

Because they have the courage to stand up to the pressure of a hate group, I will go back and start shopping at J.C. Penney again.

Good for you & thank you for your support of Ellen!! You have won yourself a loyal supporter here. All my brother's and sister's in the LGBT community will hopefully see the great thing you have done & give you their full support too!

Evangelicals and anti-gay groups do not represent any kind of a majority in the US..and in fact, number far fewer than they would like us to believe. Gays, alone, have far more purchasing power than these "moms." Good for you J.C.Penny, and glad, at least, you are dollar wise.
