Evan Wolfson, president of Freedom to Marry, and Brian Brown, president of the National Organization for Marriage, faced off Sunday during a live debate over gay marriage on WABC.

The two men were brought together to discuss New Jersey Governor Chris Christie’s proposal of putting same-same marriage on the ballot rather than having it go through this state’s legislature. Christie has vowed to veto any marriage equality legislation that comes to his desk from elected officials.

Watch Wolfson maintain the marriage equality upper hand using logic and facts in the clip below.

It's so difficult to argue with someone who really doesn't know what he's talking about. And why does he care who marries whom? As Evan said, it's not going to affect anyone's marriage. Statistics show that straight heterosexual couples are divorcing right and left, so how does their definition of marriage secure those marriages? It doesn't and I'm hoping that the NJ legislature does the right thing and overrides Christie, and Brian Brown can go home and tend to his "knitting." He's probably a very domineering husband. Go Evan and NJ!

Evan really worked him over. I hope it passes there!

You can't use logic against someone who believes in an imaginary sky being who tells him what is right and wrong. This "traditional marriage" that has been around for 5,000 years has continually adapted itself to the needs of the people. Is Brian Brown still against mixed-race marriage? Against marrying into a different religion? Was his an arranged marriage and how much was his wife's dowry?
