Anti-Gay Org Slams Target For Pride Shirts

The anti-gay Family Research Council has a serious problem with families and rainbow colored t-shirts. After they discovered that Target had begun selling Pride t-shirts with the words "Pride," "Harmony" and "Love is Love" written on them, the FRC sent out an e-mail alert asking supporters to sign a petition telling Target to "stay neutral on the redefinition of marriage."

By "neutral" they mean, "absolutely silent." The FRC's e-mail also mentioned that one hundred percent of the t-shirt proceeds will benefit the pro-LGBT Family Equality Council. But then dishonestly blamed the FEC for shutting down several Catholic adoption agencies in Illinois, Massachusetts and Washington when in fact, the Catholic agencies voluntarily closed after refusing to follow laws requiring state-funded adoption agencies to adopt to gay couples.

Anyway, Target follows JCPenny as another clothing retailer who has recently faced anti-gay anger for acknowledging the existence of gay couples. But so far, neither company seems to be backing down, and that makes us proud.
