READER POLL: How Much Jail Time Does Dharun Ravi Deserve?

Unless you've been living under a rock, you've heard of Dharun Ravi (pictured right). He's the d-bag found guilty of spying on and attempting to broadcast a hook-up between his gay college roommate Tyler Clementi (pictured left) and another man. Soon after discovering Ravi's schemes, Clementi killed himself.

The judge sentenced Ravi to 30 days along with 300 hours of community service, a $10,000 fine and some LGBT and cyber-sensitivity training. But after Ravi appealed his conviction, he decided to serve his sentenced jail time and has been released after 20 days for work credits and good behavior.

How the eff someone can accumulate 10 days off in just 20 days served is beyond us. And both the New Jersey LGBT organization Garden State Equality and the nationwide LGBT college student advocacy group Campus Pride have issued statements decrying Ravi's early release.
