The 2012 Olympics Deserve A Gold Medal In Sexism

Even though many people have touted the London games as the "most gender equal" of all Olympics, in his latest video For & Against vlogger Jim Morrison points out a few plain pieces of pervasive sexism in the Games:
- Women still compete in 30 fewer events than men do.
- When commentators discuss a male event win or loss, they speak of skill and technique; when they discuss a female's performance, they speak of luck.
- Of the 135 Olympic committee, only 15 are women.
He also decries the pornographic imagery used to promote women's beach volleyball as well as the fact that the men's Japanese soccer team flew first class while the World Cup-winning women's soccer team flew coach. The same thing happened with the Australian basketball teams even though the women's team has won silver in the past three Olympics and the men have never come close.
