Matthew Mitcham Is Rainbow Roadkill

Back in January, a rainbow crosswalk was installed on Sydney’s Oxford Street to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the city’s annual Mardi Gras gay pride festival. Too bad was removed earlier this month, disappointing those who love gay photo ops.

In protest and memoriam, Sydney residents began chalk-painting their own rainbow crosswalks across town, sparking a movement of DIY rainbow crossings across the world; the DIY Rainbow Crossing Facebook page already has more than 20K likes.

Among down under's most notable DIY rainbow crossing fans is out Australian diver Matthew Mitcham, who won a gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The ukulele-playing, underwear-modeling cutie shared this fantastic photo on Lockerz, writing, "I only condone graffiti when it's pretty... like this!!"

And we only condone graffiti when it's got a hot gay Aussie on it.
