Get Carried Away By Young Samantha Jones
This is Big news, Mister!
Before hot flashes, before cancer, before bedding hundreds of handsome men, Sex and the City's Samantha Jones was just a fabulous girl in New York City.
Newcomer Lindsey Gort has been cast in the iconic role for the upcoming second season of the '80s-set SATC prequel series The Carrie Diaries, and TVLine has the first official photo of her in character, serving her best Kim Cattrall, who, duh, originated the role of Samantha in the HBO series.
“In another nerve-wracking search to create the amazing characters we all came to know and love on Sex and the City, we went out in search this year for a young Samantha Jones,” writes executive producer Amy B. Harris in a statement. ”Lindsey Gort walked into the room and owned the part. Funny and sexy with a whiff of vulnerability and an amazing dash of outrageousness, Lindsey is our exciting choice to play the young Samantha Jones.”
We know a young gay Stanford Blatch is on his way too, and we can't wait to see how Samantha interacts with Carrie's struggling gay friend Walt, played by the adorable Brendan Dooling.
Will you be tuning in when The Carrie Diaries returns Oct. 25 on the CW?
