How DOMA Affects One Binational Couple

Yohandel and Daniel met across a room at a South Beach club, and they were married in 2012. But while Yohandel lived in the United States, Daniel was from Mexico, and the U.S. government hasn't recognized their marriage because of the so-called Defense of Marriage Act, a challenge to which has reached the Supreme Court.

A video from The DOMA Project, which is collecting stories of binational same-sex couples, shares the everyday effect of the couple's relationship not being recognized by the U.S. government.
