Gay Pride is about community, politics and activism, and certainly celebration. It's also about music. From parades to dance tents to parties in the street, much of the Gay Pride season's energy and enthusiasm is conveyed through music. So with that in mind, we decided to extend our Summer Pride Guide and Gay Pride Photo Gallery with a new section: Pride Beats.

Pride Beats is your go-to guide of summer songs, curated playlists for your phone or MP3 player, profiles of local DJs, touring artists and more! We're covering the sounds and names you'll want to hear right now, with special focus on the unique vibe that comes from the United States' west coast. So whether it's all-night parties with DJs Manny Lehman or Kaskade, parties from promoters like Joshua J in San Francisco or Tom Whitman in Los Angeles, or even feeling out the unique flavor of Seattle, WA and Portland, OR's music scene, we'll have it all for you right here.

So let's get the party going by finding out what you want. After all, Pride isn't all about dance music. Festivals often feature Country Western, Latin, hip-hop and tons of other party tents. Vote for your favorite Pride Beat below and help us shape the section on Gay.net.
