Palm Springs Pride - November 5-6, 2011

The extraordinary thing about Palm Springs—made with more than 350 days of sunshine annually—is how wholly devoted it stays to its LGBT denizens. Yes it’s true, the city leads with diversity and a rich helping of unpretentious, laid-back self-expression.

It also likes to hand out generous portions of booze, food, hiking, vintage shopping and gay-friendly pools that grow alongside a curious assortment of first-rate resorts and mid century architectural treasures (some of them even designed with the discerning nudist in mind). So it should come as no surprise, then, that Palm Springs delivers a Pride event—November 5 and 6, 2011— just as worthy an example as you’ll find inside the dirtier confines of its more sprawling, less relaxed neighbors: Los Angeles, San Diego, Las Vegas and Phoenix.

We want to celebrate with you!

The downtown parade steps off at 10am and travels north from W. Ramon Rd. along historic Palm Canyon Drive. Come see for yourself who will best incorporate the 2011 Theme “Justice Today. Equality Forever!” in their parade contingent. Who will present the best out-of-town entry? Who will have the most original or outrageous entry?

Debby Holiday: Debby Holiday has brought us one dance hit after another. She broke onto the dance scene with her #5 Billboard summer anthem "Dive" in 2004. Then her power ballad "Half A Mile Away" and follow-up dance hit "Bring It On" shot into the Billboard Top 10. Main Stage on Sunday afternoon.

Ultra Nate: Dance and club music favorite Ultra Naté headlines US Bank Main Stage on Sunday. She brings two decades of music making and a variety of sounds from R&B/hip-hop, soul and disco to house, rock and electro-pop.

With an estimated 50,000 people attending the Pride Celebrations, getting around downtown Palm Springs and the Palm Springs Stadium may take a little longer. Please allow extra time when going to the Parade or Festival.
