Cincinnati Pride - June 30, 2012
Cincinnati Pride is expecting an estimated 50,000 folks to attend the 2012 event and traditionally shares its Gay Pride weekend with neighboring Northern Kentucky Pride, which takes place this year on Sunday, July 1.
Fountain Square has been a focal point of the city's Gay Pride gathering since 1973, and events continued in downtown through most of the 90's. The festival was also held for a number of years in the Northside suburb of Cincinnati until 2009. Three years ago, the Greater Cincinnati Gay Chamber of Commerce took over the event and moved Cincinnati Pride back to Fountain Square, and for 2012 has anchored the entertainment stages and vendors at the lovely riverfront area of Sawyer Point.
