Pride Charlotte — August 25-26, 2012

Like the late blooms of summer, the city of Charlotte, North Carolina holds its Gay Pride at the end of the season to avoid the bothersome high heat and humidity found in the South during June & July – and it's well worth the wait.

The LGBT Community Center of Charlotte took over operations of the city's Pride event in 2006, transforming the festival into what is now known as Pride Charlotte. With two full days of entertainment for 2012, Pride Charlotte has planned its most diverse and celebrated line-up of entertainers to date, from chart-topping singers to beloved local and regional acts. 2012 Pride Charlotte Festival
Uptown Charlotte on S. Tryon Street, between 3rd and Stonewall Streets. (Parade start time TBA)

Saturday, Noon - 10:00 PM
Sunday, Noon - 6:00 PM

Free entry with donations accepted at the gates. 80% of donations go to the operation and staging of the festival, with remaining proceeds that benefit the LGBT Community Center of Charlotte.

The Uptown Charlotte district has numerous parking lots and garages scattered around the festival area.

Hip-hop and R&B artist Trina will headline the 2012 line up, with supporting acts Adam Tyler and the Ashley Jo Farmer Band. More entertainers will be announced as they are confirmed throughout the summer.
