Austin Pride — Sept. 22, 2012

By: Scott Ragan

Austin always seems to land on one of those lists for "best places to live" every year, and with good reason. The Capital City has an incredibly diverse, creative population and the gays there love their sports, live music, and of course - drinking! Known for its casual and playful nature, Austin is considered the playground of Texas and those boys are always ready to play.

For 2012, The Austin Gay and Lesbian Pride Foundation is expecting its largest turnout ever, with over 35,000 people coming to the city for the 21st annual Austin Pride celebration. Have a look below for what's happening at this year's event.

Electronic rocker Peaches will headline the main stage with hostess Lady Bunny and 80's ladies Stacey Q & Shannon. Other cool stuff this year includes a second DJ stage, carnival performers, a pet parade, numerous food vendors and over 100 booths featuring local businesses and non-profits that support Austin's thriving LGBT community.

The full line-up of entertainers will be announced after July 1, so be sure to check their official site at Austin as the festival gets closer.
