'Sex Tips For Straight Women From a Gay Man,' Up Close And Personal!
Dan Anderson and Maggie Berman's 1997 advice book Sex Tips for Straight Women From a Gay Man, which made an amusing cameo earlier this year in the Meryl Streep film Hope Springs, is now headed for Off-Broadway!
Written by Jim Brochu and producer Matt Murphy, this frank three-character comedy about a woman named Maggie and her gay best friend Dan will, like the book, feature — yup, you guessed it — sex tips for straight women from a gay man's perspective. The stage version of Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man is aiming for a world premiere this winter.
“Some of our best tips were picked up and perfected in New York, so we’re thrilled that this hilarious adaptation of our best-selling book will premiere Off-Broadway,” said authors and real-life BFFs Dan "gay man" Anderson and Maggie "straight woman" Berman in a statement. “New York theatre is no place for amateurs, where the competition is, ahem, stiff. If the audience has just a fraction of the fun watching the play as we did writing the book, it’ll be an utterly orgasmic success!”
