Shot Callers: Patrik Gallineaux
Sometimes I have to pinch myself that I get to live such a fabulous life here in the Kingdom of San Francisco! Growing up in a tiny town in Western New York as the only little gay kid I knew, I would dream of a life full of glitter, open minds, diversity, and the opportunity to change the world. Be careful what you wish for! In only the past week, I have been so blessed as to be involved with the launch of North America’s first LGBT Bolllywood Club (called OMG!), and am thrilled to have just joined the leadership council of GLAAD (and so excited to begin helping to plan an OUT-rageous GLAAD Halloween party). This year I have had the opportunity to produce my first parade float for SF Pride (as an interactive movie set for GLAAD-we won the “most fabulous” award, yay!) and continue to work to raise money for those in need due to HIV/AIDS via my work as a board member of The Richmond/Ermet AIDS Foundation, the sister organization to Broadway Cares. Philanthropy through fabulousness! - How lucky am I to be able to bring so many of my worlds together, as ballroom dancer, performer, believer in a better world through the gorgeous beauty and truth in all of us for a better world for all!
Right now looking forward to “Candy Outlandish” on September 26th at The Café SF-how awesome that as LGBT Brand Ambassador for William Grant & Sons (Stoli) I get to produce and host this candy couture-inspired fashion show and launch party for Stoli’s two new flavors, Salted Karamel and Chocolat Kokonut (along with fashion mega-producer Runway Couturier?). If ever I yearned for fabulousness as a child, the universe is more than making up for it now-and oh yes, in the past two weeks I also helped take down an entire gang of baddies who were terrorizing SF citizens on the streets.-seriously. *Sigh*-don’t mess with the glitter!!!
