Make a Cameo in Off- Broadway's Gayest Musical
The New York theater community is already buzzing about the upcoming revival of Bare, a coming-of-age gay love story set in a co-ed Catholic boarding school. We recently wrote about Bare's perks-packed audience loyalty program, and now the musical has announced a new Instagram initiative: Fans can literally become a part of the action by submitting their own pictures to be incorporated into the show's scenic design.
You'd be smart to submit photos of you and all your friends looking super fly, but the photos can also be of places, objects, landscapes, or just about anything. In fact, the only direction for the photos is that they be submitted by October 9 with the hashtag #baremusicalpics on Instagram or by emailing them to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Jon Hartmere and Damon Intrabartolo's cult pop-rock tuner, which debuted 2000 in L.A. and bowed 2004 in NYC, begins previews Nov. 19 and opens Dec. 9 at New World Stages. Featuring choreography by Travis Wall from Oxygen's All the Right Moves, this production stars Taylor Trensch and Jason Hite as a secret gay couple struggling with the idea of going public.
