Give 'Rent Boy... the Musical' a Warm Hand on Its Opening

By: Brandon Voss

It's official: Everything has now been adapted into a musical.

Inspired by the big business of gay male escorts and produced in association with, David Leddick and Andrew Sargent's Rent Boy... the Musical opens tonight, Mar. 21, and runs 10 performances through March 31 at New York's Richmond Shepard Theatre.

Actors Michael Argento, Mario Castro, Brendan Daugherty, Randall Holloway, Parker Krug, Andrew Ryan Rix, and Ryan Rodriguez play the boys and clients, and you know what? They're actually pretty cute.

Songs, in case you were wondering, include "Rentboy," "The Boyfriend Thing," "Gay for Pay," "All My Dreams in a Row," "That’ll Be a Little Bit More," "Waiting for the Dark Man," "Inner Me," and "Who Invented the Jockstrap" — all of which can be previewed, if you dare, on the show’s website.

Will you pay to see Rent Boy... the Musical? It's a lot cheaper than the real thing — and probably funnier.
