Neil Patrick Harris has revealed the first photo of his beglittered face and Miley-ish tongue in Hedwig and the Angry Inch, which begins performances Mar. 29 at Broadway's Belasco Theatre.

"Hedwig News! The first ad image was just released, and I get to debut it!" he wrote on Twitter. "Tickets go on sale soon... ‪@HedwigOnBway."

A musical about a fictional band fronted by an East German transgender singer named Hedwig, Hedwig and the Angry Inch ran for more than two years at Off-Broadway's Jane Street Theatre beginning Feb. 1998. Time named it the "Top Musical" of that year and Rolling Stone later called it the "Best Rock Musical Ever."

“I am simultaneously ecstatic and terrified to be stepping into Hedwig's heels," said the How I Met Your Mother star in a statement when the project was first announced. "It is truly a once-in-a-lifetime role and I can't wait to begin the journey.”

In recent interviews, NPH has discussed the weight loss and weiner-tucking required for the role.

Will you try to see Hedwig this spring?
