What do you like best about your ride?

I like the 50/50 weight distribution, classic styling, and the buttery smoothness of the inline 6.

Do you like to take road trips in your car?  Describe your favorite road trip -- where did you go? What did you do?

Yes, I love to take road trips. My favorite was to Mont Tremblant in Canada to ski with two buddies of mine for a week. It was a 12-hour drive and spending it with good friends was just as fun as the skiing itself. We had a chance to talk the whole time, poking fun at each other, talking about cars and what we plan to do on the trip. Also getting to see all the scenery change from Virginia to Canada was very cool.

Do you like tinkering under the hood, or do you leave repairs and routine maintenance to your mechanic?

I’m not afraid to get my hands dirty. I do all my own work because I know how I want things done and by doing it myself can make sure everything is how I like it. Not to mention it saves me a pretty penny.

What special touches have you added to your car that reflect your personality and individuality?

I’ve done some performance modifications to make it faster and handle better. However, I kept the stock look. The resemblance to me is that I like to have the capability to perform well but in order to know you have to get under the hood and see for yourself.

Do you find yourself more attracted to people with similar car tastes to your own?  Or doesn’t it matter?

I would say that I do find myself attracted to people with similar car tastes to my own. It means that you have something in common and when I spend a lot of time around my car it’s nice to have someone that understands the same feelings about it and can be a part of the conversation.

If you had an unlimited budget and could change anything you wanted on your car, what modifications or accessories would you add?

I would buy a Moton suspension, LTW wing, CF intake, Dinan supercharger, and UUC exhaust. When I get more into racing I would like to buy more hard-core performance mods, but for right now on the street these are what I would buy.

Do you think your car has a personality or soul? What kind of sound or behavior does it have that makes it unmistakably your car?

It has a very reserved but aggressive personality at the same time. The stock look I kept makes it refined and classy, making it at home anywhere when driven every day. Then when you look underneath the hood you know it means business and isn’t afraid to break a sweat when faced with a challenge.

Do you have a nickname for your car?

Not at the moment. I haven’t found a situation yet that I could find that would warrant giving her a name.

Have you upgraded the car stereo? What is your "dream" sound system?

I have the Bavarian Soundwerks Stage I System. It is an upgrade from the stock system that is a dramatic improvement over it. This system gets pretty close to my dream system because I like something that sounds clean and clear without accentuated bass that shatters windows even when I blast it to give neighboring drivers something to look at as I attempt to sing while in traffic or driving down the road.

What aspect of your ride most attracted you when you decided to own and drive it?

The way it drove and the styling. I have been a fan of the E36 M3 for a long time, but when I actually had a chance to drive it I was sold within the first five minutes. The styling of it is classic and sexy yet at the same time is reserved enough not to shout, “Here I am, look at me!”…. Which has probably saved me from a few less-than-pleasant encounters with local law enforcement.

Have you ever pushed your car to its performance limit? What was the fastest speed?

I have not pushed this car to its limit yet. The fastest I’ve had it up to was 100 mph and I have pushed it and had a lot of fun, but I don’t want to risk anything until I get some more track time under my belt for me to feel comfortable enough to push it further.

Are you a member of any car clubs or other auto-related organizations?

I’m a member of the BMWCCA and am on

What was the first car you ever had? Do you ever get nostalgic for it?

It was a 2001 Ford Escape in arrest-me red. I think with anyone’s first car this is something that you will miss about it. For me it was the car I learned to drive on and I remember all the fun times of being 16 and going out with all your friends getting into little bits of trouble and having a good time in general.

If you could trade your ride in for any other car, what would it be, regardless of the price?

The car I would trade it for would be the Lamborghini LP-670-4 SuperVeloce. When you’ve got a 6.5L V12 cranking out 670 hp running you to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds….I think just maybe I could let my baby go for one.

If you share a burning passion for your car like thousands of other gays, now you have a chance to let the world know. We don't just want to see your auto obsession, we want to hear all about it!
