Get your piece of the Middle East

Club Nur (pronounced "Noor") is the gay Middle Eastern club night held in Los Angeles and San Francisco, and as far as the promoters know it's the only regular gay ME club night in the world.

Since we're all about educating our readers, let me explain that Nur means "pomegranate" in Armenian (its the national fruit), and it also means "light" in Farsi, Arabic and other Middle Eastern languages. I'm pretty sure that the word has a positive connotation and was thus chosen, but I like to think of it as implying a night of "light and fruity" fun.

Gay and straight mix, with visitors who party to Middle Eastern and mainstream dance music, imbibe on imported Lebanese and Armenian beers (alongside any American concoction), and your chance to take a toke from the hookah.

It's super fun, especially when you get these hunky gay guys with their sexy straight girlfriends dancing it up and stripping down.
