Long Beach Gay Pride is one month away, May 15 and 16, and this weekend unofficially kicks off the pride season for California. To help you plan your Pride weekend, we've started prepping Gay & Away City Guides, that list the bars, restaurants, hotels and shops you'll want to visit.

The Brit

Awesome neighborhood bar with friendly guys, great drinks, pool and darts.

Club Ripples

Beachside dance club with drag shows, ladies’ nights, Latin studs, dirty dancing and hot men.

Usually a lesbian locale, with Latino boys on Thu and Boy’s Room on Fri.

The Falcon

Once a former dive bar, The Falcon is now a crowded hot spot on Friday and Saturday nights. It might be a small venue, but they know how to pack ‘em in with cheap drinks and great DJs. Crowd includes something for everyone, from twinks to bears and plenty of fag hags.

Great guys, cheap drinks, dance floor, fun patio, with a vibe that’s Long Beach cool.

Hamburger Mary’s Long Beach
Restaurant serves the usual Mary’s burger fare (delicious) but this local also features a bar, dancing and patio. Super fun, casual environment, strong drinks, and plenty of places to chat up cute boys. Check for theme nights on the website.

Silver Fox

Known as the premiere entertainment spot in the LBC, Silver Fox is also Long Beach’s oldest video bar. Crowds still flock here for the friendly crowd, theme nights, great drinks and super fun times. Sundays are packed for karaoke night.

The Velvet Lounge

New gay bar in the Santa Ana Arts District opened and then got closed, but word is they’ll be open again by summer season. Huge bar and lounge, outdoor patio, fun young studs with some 18+ nights.
