White Party Weekend Wrap Up — Desert Tea
"Hot men... Hot men... WHEEERRRREEEE do you come from?"
Apologies to Designing Women on that.
The point being, Palm Springs was the hottest location for shirtless studs this past weekend. No surprise with The White Party being in town. We've contacted the PR folks for WP to get some official photos and a press release on numbers, info, yadda yadda yadda. So far? No response.
That's cool, because we have the rundown of all the fun that happened at Desert Tea!
The boys packed into The Ace Hotel Palm Springs (our favorite super gay-friendly destination when in the desert) for Desert Tea, and this turned out to be the most kick-back party featuring hot guys, great music, and an amazing vibe.
It was kind of like this: You're outside, the warm summer sun is sending tingles over your bronzed skin, you've got a cocktail in hand when you spot another hot guy who has given you the eye (which makes you feel super good about all that dieting you did weeks before), and that's when a fabulous song comes on that makes you and your friends lift your hands in the air and start dancing in place until you all notice that some fabulous queen has decided to do an impromptu "lip-sync for his life" (only this bitch ain't getting kicked off of nothin') and everyone starts moving to the beat and cheering him on and you realize this is the most fun you've had in ages!
Yes, it was kind of like that.
And evidently, I'm not the only cat who thinks so. CirCuit CadenCe did a write up where he called Desert Tea "the talk of the town." What's really interesting about the piece is the writer John Longo's commentary on this event versus the White Party's official events. He's not too fond of Jeffrey Sanker (to say the least) but his observations make for a good schooling to party promoters on ways that they can adapt and grow their parties if they want to stay relevant to a new generation of club kids. Read the whole piece here.
As for the boys of Desert Tea, I'm told they'll be doing something else very soon. We'll keep you informed.
