Happy Hour Monday: Carrie's Classic Cosmo

FROM THE FIRST SEX AND THE CITY MOVIE: Carrie, Samantha, Miranda, and Charlotte are sitting at a restaurant with martini glasses of cosmopolitans in hand.

Miranda: “Why did we ever stop drinking these?”
Carrie:
“Because everyone else started.”
Samantha:
“Well, that one’s an oldie but goodie.”

The Sex and the City TV series popularized the  cosmopolitan among women and gay men. While last Friday we gave you a new Mr. Big beverage (courtesy of SKYY Vodka), we thought we'd offer the original SitC cocktail today. Because the truth is that a cosmo is like these ladies: a delicious classic.

Carrie's Classic Cosmo

THE CHILDREN

•1 oz SKYY vodka

•1/2 oz triple sec

•1/2 oz fresh lime juice

•1/2 oz cranberry juice

THE GLITTER

•lemon twist

WERQ!

1. Combine SKYY vodka, triple sec, lime and cranberry juices in a cocktail shaker with ice.
2. Shake.
3. Strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with a twist.
