Montana Gay Pride 2010 Photos

Marc, one of our readers, sent in pictures from Gay Pride Montana, which took place June 18-20, 2010 in Kalispell.

Not knowing where Kalispell was, and wondering what the heck they do for Pride in a place like Kalispell, I visited the Montana Pride website and then their Facebook page. Between Marc's photos and the ones I found online, a lovely revelation hit me: these small Prides are what the Gay Pride season is really all about.

What you'll see in the upcoming slide show are two stories. One is a group of friends getting together to party during Gay Pride. The second is a bit more humbling to those of us living in major cities or gay ghettos. This is the story of people who are out, proud and changing minds in areas that aren't as gay friendly as cities like San Francisco, Miami, or New York.

This is the kind of parade where it's as much about being out in the streets as it is about having fun at a festival, and for that we all owe these guys a nod of respect.

So to all the Montana Prides out there, thank you. And now, enjoy the pictures.
