Comic-Con International 2010Hall Costumes

The Spartans were in the house, as were comic book, anime, science fiction, and every other character you can imagine—including a lesbian Enterprise crew.

We're talking Comic-Con International: San Diego, and as this show grows bigger and bigger the fan costumes become more impressive. Some are tributes to favorite characters of past and present (Popeye the Sailor Man), some are political (oil spill Aquaman) and some are just plan incredible.

Gay.com had photographer Mari Provencher on site and she took some incredible shots for us that we'll be presenting throughout the week.

So let's start today, by looking at some of our favorite fan costumes.
