Opening Friday: Eden in San Diego

In the heart of Hillcrest, San Diego's gay ground zero, emerges Eden. The new restaurant / entertainment space—housed in the old Universal club/restaurant location— is owned by Chef Scotty Wagner and NightlifeSD’s David Laurent, who bought the venue shortly after Universal closed. Over the past year they have completely restructured the venue's layout, creative concept, and hired an amazing staff to take care of Eden's new patrons.

The space features a beautiful lounge / bar, elegantly comfortable dining room, and space for music and entertainment. It feels elegant without being pretentious—a hard combination for any restaurant to manage.

Chef Scotty's globally-inspired menu (like the gorgeous "Crack Pot" to the left, or the "Cali Cobb" featured below) focuses on fresh, local and seasonal ingredients. Chef Scotty explains, “Eden was motivated by my desire to support sustainable agriculture and local farmers. The venue’s multi-faceted, open and adaptable environment has inspired me as well. Here at Eden, the opportunities are endless.”

Eden opens this Friday, October 28th.
