Delhi, India Gay Pride 2010 Photos
The Advocate reports that nearly 2,000 people gathered in Delhi, India's capital, on November 28 to take part in the city's Gay Pride parade celebration.
What makes yesterday’s event so stunning is that this is the first LGBT Pride since homosexuality was legalized in 2009 by the High Court. Though these numbers seem small by U.S. standards, this was a huge display for an inaugural gathering, with men and women donning bright feathers, masks, flags, body paint and other adornments to celebrate their ability to live as openly gay people.
Check out the slide show below and look at the joy-filled faces to see what it meant to the people of India.
