Provincetown Hotel Upgrades and Opens with a New Name

Provincetown is once of the most wonderful gay travel destinations on the planet, especially in summer. By day this sleepy bohemian resort town welcomes numerous day trippers, while at night LGBT travelers flock to the downtown tea dances, cabaret and drag shows, and numerous restaurants. It's both lively and restful, vibrant and relaxed, which also means that hotels, bed and breakfasts, rental properties and guest houses all book up well in advance.

Enter Harbor Hotel Provincetown, formerly the Cape Inn. This full-service waterfront hotel boasts fresh, contemporary interiors with 119 guestrooms and 10 suites, all sleek and stylish, many with water views and some that are pet friendly. It's gay friendly—their website makes no qualms about welcoming gay travelers or hosting same-gender weddings. General Manager Nicholas Ferguson-Mitchell supports that philosophy saying, "Harbor Hotel Provincetown will exemplify the inclusive spirit of the community. Year-round we will welcome couples, families, and groups of friends whether visiting for a romantic retreat, weekend getaway or Cape Cod beach vacation.”

The popular Whaler Lounge features extra comfortable chairs, art-filled walls, live entertainment and an exciting new food and drink menu. Exterior spaces have been landscaped and re-conceived to feature an outdoor patio lounge with fire pit and deck. The seasonal outdoor pool with Cabana Bar also features an expanded menu of cocktails and grilled favorites.

Hotel amenities include complimentary deluxe continental breakfast, all-day coffee bar, indoor and outdoor café seating, free property-wide WIFI, flat screen TVs with HBO, connecting rooms and summer shuttle bus service to town and beaches.

It's about a 12 minute bike ride from the main downtown area—everyone rides their bikes in P-town, you don't need a car—so it's close enough to the action to have fun but far enough away that you can escape the party if you want.
