Pride Houston, Texas - June 18 - 26, 2011
Pride Houston is annually voted "one of the Top 10 events to attend in Houston." This year marks the 33rd anniversary of the Pride Houston LGBT Celebration and it's going to be bigger than ever!
Pride Week kicked off Saturday June 18 with an opening party at Jones Plaza downtown. Other events during this week include Rock the Runway, a fashion show at Guava Lamp; the finale of the Pride SuperStar singing competition at Meteor, and much more. It all culminates June 25 with the Pride Houston Festival and nighttime Parade.

Rainbow on the Green
The evening before Pride, head downtown to Houston's Discovery Green Park for Rainbow on the Green. This celebratory concert hosted by Houston's own Tye Blue will feature showstopping performances by local LGBT recording artists with dancing, artful display of Houston's NOH8 campaign models, great vendors and more. With over 200 contingents and exhibitors, multiple stages and venues, and more than 150,000 attendees, the Pride Houston Festival is one of the largest LGBT gatherings in Texas and the southern United States.
The festival is packed with a wide variety of exhibitors, artists, music of all kinds, performers, stages, and fun. There really is something here for everyone. The celebration in the Montrose neighborhood focuses on showcasing music and entertainment from local LGBT artists and performers.
8:15 - 11:00 PM
The Houston LGBT Pride Parade was the first Pride Parade in the United States to be held at night. For 2011, this historic event will begin at 8:15 PM along Westheimer in the Montrose District. This year's Celebrity Grand Marshal is Jonathan Lovitz, the sexy star of Logo's newest hit Setup Squad. According to estimates, the Parade draws over 200,000 spectators, making it the second largest parade in Houston, and the largest gathering of LGBT individuals in the southern United States.
The LGBT Pride Parade features a Pre-Parade show that starts at 8:00 PM along Westheimer at Waugh. The show will feature entertainment to kick off the parade. The Pre-Parade Show is free to attend.
