Despite warnings that "don't ask, don't tell" is still in the process of being erased from the books, about 200 active-duty troops and veterans marched in San Diego's gay pride parade this weekend. Reports say this could be the first time gay servicemen have ever marched openly together at any pride in the U.S.

According to Dave, who's boyfriend Chris marched alongside his fellow servicemen, "Originally more than 300 people were signed up to march in the event and many more were expected to show up beyond that, but on Friday more legal maneuvering over DADT resulted in miltary commanders warning servicemen that they may be at risk if they marched in the event. Despite this, nearly 200 active and retired military members marched this year, including those who served in Irag (both wars) Afghanistan, Vietnam, Korea and even one who served in WWII (amazing!)."
