Bill Maher: Obama is NOT the First Gay President

If you thought Newsweek’s recent cover announcing Obama as the “First Gay President” was misleading you’re not alone. Bill Maher also thought the headline was ridiculous and pointed out why on last night’s episode of Conan.

“I understand [the reference]…it comes from Toni Morrison [who] years ago said Clinton was the first black President, but she said that…because so many things about him were similar to the black experience,” Maher said. “What about Obama [is gay]? How does this translate? What does he do that’s gay?”

As confused as he was by the magazine’s cover, Maher was pleased that Obama announced his support of marriage-equality saying, “I think it’s redic that it took [Obama] that long, but it's also rediculous because Mitt Romney is going around the country pretending that marriage is this secret concept that only applies when you ejaculate in a vagina.” “Of all the people to be making this claim that one man and one worman—a Mormon? I mean…this is a religion that is so stupid Tom Cruise would not join it.”
