Olympics Closing Ceremony Packed With 80's British Gay Faves
It makes total sense that the London Olympics creative team would bring the big guns for its 2012 closing ceremony, and from what we're seeing the performances will pack quite a punch with many gay favorites from the 1980's British pop scene.
A few photos have already leaked this week showing George Michael, Annie Lennox and the Spice Girls rehearsing big budget numbers for Sunday's show. Other performers reported to appear for the three-hour "A Symphony of British Music" extravaganza include Kate Bush, New Order, Pet Shop Boys, Blur, Adele, Jessie J, The Who, Muse, and adorable boy band One Direction — and with so many more beloved British musicians eligible to appear, those listed could be just the tip of the English iceberg.
It's going to sound like 1984 all over again on Sunday night. We can't wait to watch and listen!
