If you tuned in for the Wednesday premier of the X Factor, you witnessed contestant Don Philip’s emotional reunion with his former duet partner Britney Spears.

The 32-year-old singer broke down in tears shortly after walking out on stage because he was ready to reveal a secret he’d kept from Britney for 13 years.

In front of the entire X Factor audience and the rest of the judging panel, Don Philip revealed he was gay.

However, his emotional confession was edited out of the program and now Rumor Fix reports the singer is shocked his most important message was cut from the show.

“They edited the gay out of me,” Philip told Rumor Fix, adding, “I didn’t do anything bad. Is Gay bad for FOX?”

The singer, who performed “I Will Still Love You” with Spears on her debut album …Baby One More Time, believes the omission “is sending the wrong message. It’s like gay is being censored.”

When questions began to be raised about the editorial decision, a spokesman for the X Factor released the following statement: “While we understand his decision to discuss his personal life, Mr. Philips’ sexual orientation was not something that any of the judges or producers felt was relevant to this audition.”

Do you agree the omission was appropriate or was the contestant’s sexuality too controversial for the X Factor?
