Drag Pageant to Dish on Coco-Alyssa 'Drag Race' Drama
If you've been watching RuPaul's Drag Race, then you know that some weird drama went down several years ago between competitors Alyssa Edwards and Coco Montrese over the Miss Gay America drag pageant.
The actual story is clear as mud — Alyssa won the crown and then lost it somehow to Coco — that's about all we know because they only talk about it vague terms that blame the other for some form of humiliation.
But now the Miss Gay American pageant is using the drama to create interest in its brand, by promising to eventually dish the truth on what went down on its Facebook page.
While we're excited to finally get the whole story without being interrupted by Michelle Visage in Absolut vodka commercials, we're worried that the "real story" is some boring bureaucratic tale about Edwards failing to complete the community service hours required to keep the crown, and hating Montrese for getting the crown as her runner up.
Yeah, five bucks says it's totally going to be boring.
But who knows? Maybe the story involves massive amounts of shade, a sabotaged wig, backstage backstabbery and a catfight on the catwalk. Now that would be an update worth untucking!
