Beloved gay author and humorist David Sedaris appeared this week on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart to talk about his latest effort, Let's Explore Diabetes with Owls.

Looking exceptionally handsome in a gray suit and new pair of glasses, Sedaris didn't really speak about the new book, but rather about how he loves to talk incessantly with the folks who show up to his book signings, and how he's fascinated by what people choose to wear when they buy a ticket and show up to one of his events. He went on to say that San Franciscans appear to be the best dressers he has seen on the current tour.

Sedaris also likes to conduct polls with his fans, including his tested theory that two straight men will absolutely not share a dessert at a restaurant. He explains, "I started asking men at the book signings — would you share a dessert with another guy? And one guy said, you know, I'd share a plate of buffalo wings. But, like a piece of pie? That's just crossing the line!"

Take a few minutes to watch the hilarious interview below, and the next time you're out to eat, see if you spot any hetero dudes sharing an after dinner sweet treat. David Sedaris seriously doubts that'll happen.
