'American Horror Story: Coven' Comes to a Supreme End

On Wednesday night American Horror Story: Coven set a new record for its series finales, reports Variety.

The witchcraft-themed ending was watched by 4.24 million viewers overall, an increase of 85% over its previous finale for American Horror Story: Asylum.

Additionally, the episode ranked number one among all scripted programming that evening, and helped make FX the second most-watched channel overall. Coven has been one of FX’s most watched television shows of the season, and is among the top five series on cable networks.

While details of the next season remain sparse, out producer and creator Ryan Murphy has mentioned that it will involve star Jessica Lange with a German accent in 1950 and that it will be her final season after four consecutive appearances.

However, as many fans can attest, the show has been everything but predictable, so viewers will have to wait until later this year to find out what the next chapter of American Horror Story will actually be.
