OVERLOOKED: Sigur Ros And John Cameron Mitchell's Amazing 'Seraph'

By: Daniel Villarreal

Do yourself a favor and watch this NSFW-ish animated short for Seraph, a beautiful meditation on anti-gay "bullying, religion and a cycle of self-hatred."

It's a wondrous collaboration between gay filmmaker John Cameron Mitchell and ambient Icelandic band Sigur Ros.

Last time we checked on them, Mitchell was working on his sequel to Hedwig and the Angry Inch and Sigur Ros had just made a music video featuring Shia LaBoeuf in the buff.

According to one source: "Seraph was produced as part of Sigur Ros' Valtari Mystery Film Experiment, [comprising] two songs from the band's latest album, Valtari, and featuring a character from Shell Game, an animated film Mitchell is producing with Brooklyn-based animator and graphic novelist Dash Shaw.
