WATCH: Darren Criss Sings Gayest 'Call Me Maybe' Cover Ever

Darren Criss, the coiffed cutie who plays the gay former Warbler, Blaine Anderson, on Glee, put his pipes on display the the 24th Annual GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles on Saturday. 

Before the 26-year-old hunk introduced actor Drew Barrymore, Criss delighted the audience with a customized rendition of Carly Rae Jepsen's summer hit "Call Me Maybe."

"Guys, I was going to play a very, you know, poignant jazz standard," Criss told the crowd as he approached the keyboard. "But then I got a text from my friend Carly Rae Jepsen, and she said you have to sing the original lyrics to my song. I was like, 'I don't think that's very appropriate for this event.' And she said, 'No, no, no. The original lyrics are a lot better than what's on the radio now. Just play it.' So I'm just following her rules here."
