WATCH: Discussing Sex and Romance Over Mimosas in 'The Boys Who Brunch'
Brunch is something of a pastime among gay men. It’s a good opportunity to catch up with friends while engaging in gossip and commiserating about love lives — or lack thereof.
A web series created by Mike Mitchell, Jr. goes inside the brunch dynamic and shows the camaraderie that can exist among a group of friends while they sip mimosas. Touting itself as Queer as Folk meets Sex and the City, The Boys Who Brunch explores the lives of four gay men who are navigating through the minefields that go along with dating and relationships.
Exploring topics such as HIV, bisexuality, and open relationships, the web series recently kicked off its second season by picking up with a cliffhanger that finds one of its characters, Mason, coping with some shocking news he received from an ex. His three friends, Elliott, Ray, and Chad, are also simultaneously dealing with issues of their own. However, we soon see that coping and dealing for these men is really more about suppressing and ignoring.
Watch a teaser for season two below.
The first episode of the new season titled “The Art of Ignoring,” as well as the seven episodes from season one, can be viewed on the show’s YouTube channel.
