Week in Geek: Brad Pitt Fights the Gay Apocalypse, Lara Croft Gender Bender, and More
These are the nerdy bits of news that had us geeking out this week.
What if Lara Croft Was a Twink?
Mad genius Raffael Mueller has given us a glimpse of what the landscape of video games might look like if male characters were objectified as much as their female counterparts. Tomb Raider’s iconic Lara Croft has been reimagined as snacky pupcake in this cheeky and totally fun series of images. I’m not ashamed to say I would totally pre-order any game featuring this cliff-climbing cutie.
Love Is in the Air
Moments like the one featured in the below clip (via The Hollywood Reporter) are exactly what I’ve come to love about Teen Wolf. The way the series weaves gay characters into the tapestry of the show is groundbreaking for a program aimed mostly at the teen market.
Huffington Post reports Independence Day 2 director Roland Emmerich has promised a gay character will be included in the upcoming sci-fi sequel. Looks like the Battle for Earth is about to get a lot more fabulous.
World War G
Any ’mo worth his weight in rainbows knows the actual gay apocalypse would include unicorns and glitter explosions, but I’m pretty sure Funny or Die’s retooling of Brad Pitt’s World War Z is exactly what Rick Santorum thought would happen to the planet if same-sex marriage was legalized in America.
